JUNIOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT camp REGISTRATION
Junior youth (ages 11-14) have immense potential to act as determined agents of social transformation and have a desire to contribute to the betterment of society. They will have the opportunity to use their potentialities to contribute to the well-being of the community and to develop their own skills and talents.
Each camp they will focus on the development of certain capabilities that will help them participate more effectively in the planning, decision-making and development of their communities. This will be done through the study of materials designed to build capacity in this age group along side workshops and projects that help them put into practice what they are learning.
This March break, youth will study pathogens that can cause disease, ways that the human body protects itself, and measures that we can take to assist our bodies in fighting pathogens more effectively. In this context, a few key ideas related to nutrition will be explored and youth will be assisted in understanding some of the science behind vaccines. They will also think about the health of the community and plan a project to increase community health.
